Yes, we do need a businessman to run this country. Screw the politics.

Look what happens every time America elects a businessman. The people get screwed while corporations get whatever they want and that always ruins the economy. America is not a business and shouldn't be run like one.

So point to one businessman who was elected president? We haven't had one including GWB. When govt organizations are run like a business they are efficient and serve their constituents. I think we could use more of that.

If you havent noticed America is run like a business. You just happen to be the worker bee busting your arse for the board of directors (lobbyists).

While things suck for you and the average Americans the top earners are doing fine since they create the regulations.

They are also the ones sending jobs overseas and bringing in cheap slave labor to take your jobs. They also use your tax money to offset their operational cost and setup tax havens overseas. Yeah they are efficient, but only the top .5% stock holders and board of directors will see the gains , while you will be feeling the pains.

Except history proves that the country does worst when a businessman is elected into office.

They are all businessman, history also shows that the issues that exist today have existed for numerous decades if not centuries regardless which party is in control.

If you think Trump is a "businessman" you are correct. The US doesn't need a "businessman", it needs a GOOD businessman. Trump is just another smart and legal crook, just like so many other politicians. They know all the loopholes.

Trump's casino operations filed bankruptcy for the second time this past November, many have wondered if it isn't time for board members to give Trump a pink slip. Despite the company failings, Trump will remain as chairman and CEO and continue to collect a $2 million dollar paycheck. So...how does a CEO decide to file for bankruptcy twice and still come out at the top of the heap?

No Personal Involvement

First, Trump doesn't get personally involved. He knows how to protect his personal finances. In both instances, Trump's corporations have filed for bankruptcy; Trump personally has not. Hence, when his casino fell into about a billion dollars in debt, the corporation filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Trump only made the decision to do so once he had spoken to his banks and bondholders. But, by filing, he gave his business the opportunity to regroup and reduce his business debt. It didn't hurt however that it would also reduce his personal debt, as Trump is likely the one every creditor would look to if the Taj Mahal couldn't pay up. So, in fact, Trump avoided potential lawsuits from credits and he may have also avoided personal bankruptcy by keeping his own bank account insulated.
***SNIP***
This past November, Donald Trump filed for Chapter 11 a second time. Again, Trump asked to be able to restructure his company's debt and overhaul its aging casinos. Under the voluntary bankruptcy filing, Trump Atlantic City Associates, which is 99 percent owned by Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Inc., listed $1.3 billion in debt and $1.5 million in assets.

But this time around the Donald proposed that reorganizing the company would provide him the cash to upgrade his properties. By making these changes, he could help keep the casinos competitive. The second benefit: bondholders would receive stock in exchange for forgiving the debt owed. In other words, it would increase their ownership of the company by roughly two-thirds.

The chances of making the money back and even a bit of profit will dramatically increase when the casino emerges from the reorganization. Why? Well, vendors will be paid. But best of all, Trump got to keep his job (and his rather hefty salary). If all goes as planned, Trump's Atlantic City properties will be able to actually turn a profit and even potentially expand into new markets like Las Vegas.

www.legalzoom.com...

Trump's also been married three times. He's either really stupid or........really stupid!

Once again, we DON'T need him for president. He's an egotistical loudmouth who has bad combover hair and too much money he doesn't deserve. Screw him.

That hasn't worked out to well for us. The US is run by brilliant businessman.

Think about who is winning and who is on the losing end.

1. Who do the regulations favor: the majority of people or the Oligopoly corporate industries ?

2. Who creates the regulations: The congressman with limited funds or the corporate lobbyist with unlimited funds and their dedicated team of lawyers whose sole purpose is to create regulations that benefit them? Remember Pelosi with her statement about having to pass the law to find out what is in it, she wasn't lying: she didn't create it . The Corporate lobbyist created it and our congress just robosigns it.

While the middle class is dwindling the Oligopolies board of directors and executive staff wages are sky rocketing. Those same Oligopoly board of directors and executive staff are the ones creating and benefiting from our regulations. They control the market and the consumers via their regulations. So I would say they are pretty brilliant , if anything I wish we had dumber businessman running the show.

Luckily I think there might be a better chance for that pickle to really run than Trump.

Trumps key to fame is his perceived wealth. He damages that perception he could lose more than just his ego.
The discloser he just released is a joke with no legal ramification.

Come July 16th that changes: he needs to provide more details about his assets and there are legal ramification to fudging the numbers.

Trump has a July 16 deadline for filing the official disclosure. He said he would do it on time.
www.npr.org...

Come July 16 we will know if he is doing his typical 4 year cycle PR campaign and if his net worth is what he thinks they should be worth.

I'm not a betting man, but I think he will jump ship before July 16.

But Trump isn't a businessman. He is a clown that claims to be a business man.

Research his record is my suggestion....

www.nydailynews.com...
www.outsidethebeltway.com...

He didn't make his millions from being in business...He inherited that money!

www.alternet.org...'s_protection_mostly_ did_the_trick

He also exploited loop-holes in the bankruptcy laws that allowed him to declare bankruptcy 4 times and run with investors money. Hell the last time was 2009 and his net worth was Negative 500 Million...he declared bankruptcy and came out a billionaire! By paying himself egregiously and then folding the companies under bankruptcy....aka stealing investors money. See how that works for the privileged few?

Actually it is not and never has been run like a business. It is a bureaucratic monopoly and bears no resemblance to a competitive business. I could explain the difference but it's not my mission in life to educate you.

You mean besides these Presidents?
FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, Truman, Reagan, Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, JFK, William McKinley, Carter, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Richard Nixon, Gerry Ford, Howard Taft, Hoover, Calvin Coolidge, George W. Bush
Let me guess you failed American history huh?

Well i guess you flunked business school. None of them, and I repeat none of them, were successful businessmen by the definition of the term. Their life focus was political, but the difference is apparently lost on you.

For effs sake...America is NOT a business and NO ONE should want it to be run like one.

Apart from the magnitude of the utter Monopoly a US GOV as Business presents with all the associated evils...

Businesses aim to Increase Revenues (aka taxes) whilst reducing expenses (The benefits and services that Government provide)...and not just welfare etc....Defense is the biggest expense item in the budget.

Highest taxes possible with least return to the public is the outcome of a government as business.

God help me...think about our government run with a strict profit motive agenda...and the politicians being the Executives that take home the bonus pay.

Government is not Business.

The bureaucracy is by design and the wasteful spending is by design .

However, guess who is in the winning end when gov't is wasteful with the tax payers money: the consumers or the Oligopolies involved in drafting the regulations.

Guess who designs the bureaucracy and creates the regulations in this country.

1. The politicians with limited resources that care more about thinking of ways to help the people, than getting money for re-elections?

2. Or the Corporate Oligopolies [businesses] with unlimited resources who spend billions in lobbying efforts and have a dream team of lawyers whose purpose is to draft, consult, and create regulations?

Its naive at best to think its the politicians who designed the wasteful spending and bureaucracy versus the Mega uncompetitive Oligopoly corporations who directly benefit from it.

The gov't is inefficient because it is designed to be inefficient by Corporate Oligopolies. While its inefficient for the people its working just fine for the Corporate Oligopolies who are there to benefit from that wasteful spending.

I could explain the difference but it's not my mission in life to educate you.

I will pass on your offer, However, you may wan't to spend some of that wisdom and time to look at how things are really working versus how they tell you its working.

You won't have an efficient gov't until you remove the money being thrown at congress by businesses and special interest groups.
