Wow, ten years ago I joined what has been arguably the best conspiracy site on the web. Looking back on the time spent here, I have learned as much
about conspiracy as I have about those who persue it. There are those who have a casual interest in things and acknoledge the threads lightly, and
there are those who want to gather the like minded masses to their side to change the world. Out there there are many secrets. Some secrets are
caught and exposed, some are misinformation to confuse the finder. While others still are propaganda to sway thought. In my time here I have not
seen much in the way of exposure leading to change, but there have been moments where we came close.
The interesting ones are the secrets we uncover about those who discover things. What comes to mind for me are topics like SERPO, John Titor, and
John Lear's stories. The surface stories in themselves are great reads, but when we pick apart the evidence to scrutinize for facts it is then we
learn about the individuals. Was it internet fame that motivated them, was it belief, or maybe a book deal? In any case if this site wasn't here,
those stories while still maybe heard, would never have gotten the attention they have now.
The members here throughout my years have always done their best to dig, scratch and search for clues. We had many who would actually travel
to scenes to report back. Valhall was a great member who comes to mind. She heard of a FEME camp where refugees were housed, she went out there to
investigate mistreatment. Val reported back her findings to back up claims. It was a great day here for researchers. I truly miss those hard core
researchers. They inspired me to keep looking. We've also had multiple specialists online to answer our questions and hear our theories out. We have
reporters who drop by to hear our ideas and questions as well. The massive bulk of data here can be intimidating to the new comer. Some topics good,
some not so good. Sure we have the challenge of sifting through a few hundred threads where the OP is either nuts or acting out for internet
attention, but within that heap there are some great gems. When I first was allowed access to RATS back when it was still pretty active, I asked
'where are the diamonds that are locked away here?' Another member pointed me to the pile and hinted that they are rough and you must dig for them.
I pass that wisdom on to those nowadays who ask the same. There may not be so many now compared to then, but there are some. The old stories are
still really good reads and may still inspire new research. I long to revisit those stories with fresh perspective.
Years ago I used to log on at work and check through whenever I had time. I still log in at least once a day every day hoping for something to
grab me. I don't post much because I believe in quality over quantity. Over the years we have drifted away from cospiracy and more towards social
media blurbs. This always saddened me, but the majority will always shape the content of the site, while the minority either changes with it or
leaves. I am still hopeful that the next big story will break here before the mainstream media finds out. It is a thrill to be a week into chatting
about things unravelling then seeing it on the news with their spin.
Well, I guess what I really want to say is that I am glad we are here and that I hope the collective members here keep digging. Here's to many
more years.
Thanks guys.
