It's all irrelevant though whilst the UK has a nuclear deterrent........ Last line of defence and MAD assured......

PDUK

Exactly PDUK,its all silly theatrics which costs stupendous money, for nothing more than a show for the media/public.
As if Russia would launch a conventional attack on the UK...They are not imbeciles.

They can keep on probing but the RAF will always be there to show them who's the boss.

This is happening more and more often, it is pre-war conditioning. It also coincides with 3 Russian warships being escorted through the English channel... apparently. This isn't a game.

This seems to be happening way too much these days and I think there is definately more to it.

Who remembers that loud 'boom' sound late last year? november time I think it was... I reckon that was a British Aircraft that time intercepting a russian craft! It was never found out what exactly that was..

The Tu-95s were down to monitor the ongoing Joint Warrior exercise in the UK. The NATO vessels in the North Sea were making transmissions on Guard frequencies to the Tu-95 Bears warning them of busy flight regions, etc.

243.0 warning to Russian Mil Aircraft at 55.02N 01.28E to state intentions.

Guard frequency warnings gave their location as 56.25n00.29w heading North blocking FL260-270

The Tu-95s were making good use of Morse Code today on HF as they were having problems on the HF Voice frequency. The Morse signals on the Tu-95 Bear H air frequency were booming out for me being on the east coast of the UK.

The first two are Tu-95MS Bear H sending their 3 figure encoded radiograms back to ground controls

The HF Voice net was rarely used today with preference given to Morse Code to pass the radiograms. The following recording is a couple of attempted call ups from aircraft and ground station.

Excellent website for HF enthusiasts wanting to monitor the Tu-95s.

A nuclear deterrent that the Scottish people do not want.
A nuclear deterrent that breaches the Non-Proliferation Treaty since America and the UK share nuclear technology (Trident).
A nuclear deterrent that is vastly is out numbered and out yielded by Russia, one nuke is probably enough to wipe out large areas. UK is not that large you know.

It's all allowed for in the budget. It would take a lot more than they've had to do to make a dent.

And no one ever suggested they were forced to land so what does that part of your post have to do with anything?

The budget YOU pay for? Or are you in America dictating to the world what they should pay?

It is all fine and dandy to say spend spend spend when it is NOT YOUR money and especially when it is OTHER PEOPLES money.

The budget that all militaries, including the one that I pay for use. A set amount is allocated for fuel every year. These intercepts come out of that, no matter what country it is.
