Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, national parks should be respected no just because their cultural value and consideration of the native Americans but because their beauty should be preserved for generations to come.

The problems that are plaguing many reservations this days (no all) is more of political and social nature than anything else, bringing more jobs, would help some of the Navajo people problems but the root of those problems are more deeper than a mall can help clean, eliminate and fix.

This is great. More visitors to the canyon. commercialization isn't always a bad thing.

They start with a huge super mall, then next thing you know comes the Casinos everywhere like in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

It's called a National Park for a reason, not a National resort. This reminds me of the commercialization of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, such a shame.

Yep, They got hotels, food courts, grocery stores and shopping outlets all filled with special souvenirs just for you, made in China of course. Well they did tear out the Gas station there decades ago thank god.

So yeah allowing them to get a foothold in The Grand Canyon is a terrible idea because it will only be the beggining.

Oh and Lake Tahoe should have been made a National Park, one of the most epic environmental failures of all time. ~$heopleNation

Why isn’t it OK for the Navajo to charge $40 to ride a gondola to a secure site close to the Confluence but its ok to charge $2850 per rafter so they can tie up right on the Sacred Site and party? I guess that’s why Grand Canyon River Guides oppose the Escalade and has joined with Save The Confluence. Can’t have the Navajo making any money while they are raking it in.

grandcanyonescalade.com...

The Navajo are asking a good question there.
