but there isn't any caramelization of the meat....

....the best bacon:

- line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
- lay the bacon out flat in rows
- put in center of a 375 degree oven
- check back in 15 minutes, it should be just about done

Although, for a 1 minute prep time i totally can do a microwave cooker.

We fry our bacon. We keep the grease. We used to use the microwave, but it never really tastes right in the microwave for some reason.

Can your bacon.

Then you get it out, only takes about 3 minutes in a pan to get crispy, and most of the grease is at the bottom of the jar.

No sir.
I'm talking canning. I have a thread on it even somewhere.
But I can everything.

It really does make it easier.
Just wrap it in parchment paper and can it in wide mouth quart jars.

Best thing? It will last longer than in the freezer, so you can stock up.

I have bacon trays for the microwave, goes crispy, tastes great, less mess, saves time. But it lacks a certain texture or something? so pan fried or under grill are my preference.

.... Now am off to make some Bacon

Oh, no, so many people talking about ditching the grease ...

How can you ditch the grease? It imparts such bacony, yummy flavor to things like ... popcorn and beans and other items that might get a bit of flavor from the oil you use.

Bacon works in either the skillet or the stovetop griddle or the oven.

I like it wrapped around bundles of fresh green beans.

I hardly think someone who can cook bacon, in any way, shape, or form, would be considered a chef.

Cooking bacon in the oven?

Line the bottom of your pan with multiple layers of papertowels. Not only will it soak up the grease but it will help limit the amount of smoke generated while cooking

Bacon in the microwave is gross...just gross...

No thanks, I'll stick to using the oven and a cookie sheet.

Exactly... sounds disgusting.
The Grill is good for me.
