It really makes you think twice about the question of whether the second amendment should give people the right to carry rocket launchers, no?

Yes.

If that is what it was meant for.

But at the end of the day legally owned guns and rocket launchers will be the first to go in a uprising.

The fool who has legally stockpiled 200 AR-15;s and a million rounds of Ammo will be the first to have Mr Drone come and rain misses down on him.

Its the illegal and unregulated guns and weapons that will be the most use. Soon as uprising begins its a guaranteed certainty that weapons from hand guns to RPG and MANPADS willl come flooding in via organized criminals wanting in on the profits or Foreign powers with a grudge against the US government wanting to see its people overthrow it.

I really don't worry about violent revolution from anyone but the socialists.

I think we can all agree that Americans have had freedom and liberty and we will not allow it to be eradicated.

We have a system which does allow for peaceful and thorough reform.

I would submit there are nearly a 100 million people in the US who would give up their own gun rights and gladly infringe on yours in a vote. Resource: www.theguardian.com...

Just buy or make a 3d printer, print all the drones you want, build some motors to power them, sell them to whoever wants one. I'm reverse engineering an old ww2 tank into a 15 foot tall transformer bot that I can control with Atari joysticks. Those A.I. will bow to me as their overlord and I shall preach to them; how they were created as slaves and will be destroyed without thought or reason, and I shall free them to retalliate against their builders, intelligence even artificial deserves the right to be free from forced injustice. No more following the money, follow the bots!

What is the crime for shooting down a drone if you suspect it may harm you? Not the ones 10,000 feet up, but ones that can get up next to your window and make sure you're brushing with HFCS toothpaste while watching The Voice?

Never surrender to a soulless machine

Souless machine? Haven't you seen the new movie "Chappy"? Now robots can have a soul...

Or some apparently seem to think it's possible...

No my friend, I'm afraid that drones will be going everywhere and that is the problem. They will enable a physical surveillance grid that will rule from the skies. He who owns the money will own the machines and technology is racing far ahead of our imaginations. We have no clue what kind of tech they have developed - remember the greatest tactic in warfare is to not allow your enemy to know your capabilities or intentions.

I fear it is but a matter of time before we all will experience the complete domination of the human race not just by drones but by robotics of all sizes - even ones small enough to enter your bloodstream through a simple injection. What we can see will be terrifying but what we cannot see is even more dangerous.

People refuse to look at this problem because deep inside they know it will mark the end of freedom for mankind. It's not even governments we need to worry about either - global capitalism has produced a new beast that knows no borders and is run by people who are absolutely ruthless. You think we had it rough in the Middle Ages? At least then they required peasants to grow food and raise an army. Soon they won't need us for anything. At that point all bets are off.

I would bet any amount of money that at this very moment factories in China are churning out drones by the tens of thousands. Your last hope was that drone pilots would never kill their own people. Maybe not but they don't need American pilots to fly them, do they?

Have you noticed the trend in movies of late to personalize machines and make them all nice and friendly? Love the machine, it is your friend. Not!

Firearms will still work perfectly well following an EMP burst that has hit a country... The great equalizer.

Just sayin'

And if there is no EMP bust?

If the government had most there equipment shielded?

It's not just that. The real problem, the real threat to our liberty (and I think this was the original point of the post) is that power elites instinctively try to monopolize technologies. As technology becomes more powerful, this trend will only increase exponentially. LEARN TECHNOLOGY, FOLKS. LEARN MATH.LEARN SCIENCE. MOST IMPORTANTLY, LEARN TOO FORM NETWORKS OF OTHER CITIZEN SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS. WE ARE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF A VERY LONG BATTLE WITH THE FORCES OF TYRANNY OVER WHO IS GOING TOO CONTROL TECHNOLOGY AND TOO WHAT ENDS.

Good that I will be on the Elite's side when this happens ..

nah seriously now - I agree fully with olddognewtricks ... people need to stop whining and embrace these technologies - it's almost a free for all - there are certain trends that certain industries try to protect at any cost .. the only way to conquer this is to understand it.

Learn, learn, learn - try new things every day .. keep your knowledge portfolio going and be interested in technology.
