Putin has disappeared from public since March 5th

There are rumors that his girlfriend just had their third child in Switzerland.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not been seen in public since March 5. The 62-year-old was reported to be ill, but a Putin Spokesman denied that strongly. The spokesperson said that Putin is in private meetings the whole time. Now the Swiss newspaper Blick reports that Putin could be in Switzerland. According to the report Putin's unofficial girlfriend Alina Kabaeva has given birth in the Swiss hospital Clinica Sant'Anna, which is a favorite with rich Russians.

As an aside, I browsing a certain website this evening and came across a Ukrainian poster who alleged that Putin had died and Medvedev was in Crimea readying nukes. Well wouldn't that be interesting. I was just reading an article about when there were rumors he injured his back in a judo match and disappeared for a month, but who knows. I am not sure why Russia would have an issue with telling the world that Putin died if that was the case....it would probably draw a lot of supporters I would think.....supporters of a new government there that is.

Apparently Russian TV just aired this meeting with Lebedev at Putins residence to prove he is fine, though it is not known when it was actually filmed. Supposedly it is from today, Friday the 13th.

Russian state television aired what it said was footage of Vladimir Putin working at his residence outside Moscow on Friday, a first appearance since he dropped out of sight days ago, triggering rumours that he was ill or had been sidelined by internal conflict.

In the footage, Putin was shown in his office at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence, where he conducts many of his meetings, sitting across a table from the supreme court head, Vyacheslav Lebedev, and talking about plans to reform the judicial system.

Even the Russian president can get the flue. If Russian politics is anything like the west, public announcements to state Putin is not sick means that Putin IS sick. In times like these where Putin is the front man of a nation under attack by the west, his public's perception would do good to not see their iron leader affected by a common flue.

Maybe Putin swallowed a bone while eating Chuck Norris and it is have trouble passing.

This is going to be a juicy Soap Opera type story for years! Will Putin marry her? Will little Vlad take over Russia one day or become a gymnast? Which country will Putin give to little Vlad for his 18th birthday?

Aren't these somehow contradicting eachother? Which is it, he is holding meetings in Russia, or he is with his girlfriend in Swiss?
Also the businessinsider could be archive pictures, right? Well we'll see. Maybe everything is going back to normal, but I have a feeling he is neither with his girlfriend and definetly not healthy and in Russia.
I have to check what's the next international appointment.

Maybe I'm missing something with the Business Insider post, but the two videos are not the same.
I don't know if I'm just having a senior moment here and not understanding what they are getting at, but the backdrop the the two videos are entirely different. Are we supposed to just ignore that?

The BI piece offers nothing but the claim that one video that looks nothing like another video is the same video... nonsense.

I'm not buying the girlfriend story either. This is Putin we're talking about, an egotistical maniac who does everything possible to show his public that he is in complete control 100% of the time. Even if his girlfriend was giving birth, he would not be abandoning his role and vanishing from public view, canceling meetings - especially not a meeting with the FSB.

There is absolutely no way Putin is choosing to hand the world an opportunity to make him look weak, and give his people cause to suspect he's not the "superhero" he likes to pretend that he is. If he were healthy he would have been on Russian TV and in meetings publicly within hours of the rumor starting.

None of the claims that this is all perfectly fine and normal are matching the reality of who Putin is and what he has done for the last 15 years.

He's former KGB, and has attended every annual FSB meeting for the last 15 years. His missing this one is a major signal that something is most certainly not right in the Kremlin.

Interesting too that locals in Moscow were posting pics and statements yesterday about seeing Military Choppers flying into the Kremlin, something they apparently have never seen happening before. This has caused a lot of concern, and I'll bet it's causing a lot of concern behind the doors of our own governments too.

And they supposedly quote Mukhin Alexey and show a couple of tweets which they claim say one thing, but actually say nothing of the sort.

One says that Putin has changed his game - which I think we agree means pretty much nothing.
The other tweet doesn't exist.

I have been through all of his tweets for yesterday and today and there is absolutely no mention in any of them about a press conference or being asked to stay for the weekend for any announcement.
