Interesting although not super rare. It would only be rare if he had fully functioning male organs as well.

Usually the body favors one sex over the other in human hermaphrodites.

In this case the functioning sex organs would be female.

Technically he is female but more than likely had a hormone disorder early that resulted in the clitoris basically turning into a penis(which they do because males and females are very very similar anatomically).

I imagine if he has testes they aren't functional but I couldn't find it unless I'm missing something.

He should be cautioned that he might detest doing the sex act after his H operation.
Many women totally are not sexual after the operation.
Not necessarily intended as a joke or against those dears, women, but it happens all too frequently.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can help.
Seriously, if I were in his pants/panties, I would proceed very carefully.

He might not need it if his body is producing testosterone in high levels(which might be reason he has this condition in first place).

The report does say he had a active sex life with a girlfriend and i do remember a case in Canada many years ago where a man had a womb but i thought this was a super rare thing 1 in a billion maybe .

But this said everything on the womans side and male seem to function , but whether the body could produce either sperm/eggs is not disclosed or whether they were fertile .

you learn something new everyday

Usually it will favor one sex or the individual will be sterile altogether.

In this case I imagine since the female organs were all functioning the way they were(including periods) that his body(at least reproduction wise) was female.

I imagine he didn't have any swimmers though.

Yeah it is pretty interesting stuff but is a lot more common than 1 in a billion.

I wonder if rather than a full hysterectomy, he could be given large doses of HCG to make the ovaries decend as testes.

We all actually start out this way and only become male at a certain point in gestation when this happens. I guess he would need ingunal canals though to pass through the pelvic floor.

Pretty sure that has to happen as an embryo/fetus. Just thinking logistics here.
