I hardly think we're "doomed." Obama's a lame duck (in more ways than the most obvious). Although it's debatable if he is still "beholden" to the deal he made with Bill Clinton in 2012: Bill would stump for Obama for re-election, if Obama promised to push Hillary in 2016.

(She's damaged-goods now anyway, between her foreign-adventurism that ended with people dead in Benghazi, and the fact she never pushed for an IG for State the entire four years she was there. She was instead oh-so-consumed with throwing money at bff Huma. So Kerry finally hires an IG, and the first thing he found was that $6 BILLION was "missing" at State.)

I'm leaning GOP, since they have multiple candidates who qualify for my top criteria: a successful former governor with proven problem-solving creds, crisis-management and budget balancing. But, as usual, it'll be the Big Money donors who'll end up choosing the GOP candidate. (But most of them are successful businessmen, and would never support a dud like we have now in the Oval Office.)

Paraphrasing Bette Davis: "Better buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy few years 'til the election."

RIGHT NOW, ROMNEY HAS A DOUBLE DIGIT LEAD, WITH JEB BUSH A DISTANT SECOND
But with 19% of GOP voters undecided between Romney and Bush, it's still an open field.

The most revealing aspect of this new Rasmussen poll, is that 60% of Republicans want a "fresh face" for 2016, and are worried that the U.S. is developing an unofficial group of royal families (mainly Clinton and Bush) with too much influence over government and politics.

A FULL 1/3 OF VOTERS ANYMORE ARE INDEPENDENTS
And they are gaining more members, as the dysfunctional Dems and hard-line GOP lose registered voters.

With a crowded GOP field aiming for the Presidency in 2016, GOP movers-and-shakers are arranging events for the various candidates to be seen and evaluated by party faithfuls, as early as next weekend.

www.washingtonexaminer.com...
GOP MINI-CONVENTION IN DES MOINES SATURDAY, ARRANGED BY REP. STEVE KING, WITH OVER A HALF DOZEN SPEAKERS AND PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and former Sen. Rick Santorum are all going to speak. As well as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Dr. Ben Carson, among others.

www.washingtonexaminer.com...
BILLIONAIRE GOP SUPPORTERS, THE KOCH BROTHERS, HOSTING SUNDAY RETREAT IN PALM SPRINGS, HIGHLIGHTING THREE LESSER KNOWN 2016 GOP CANDIDATES
Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida will take part in a discussion of domestic issues being moderated by ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl. It will be more of a conversation than a debate, with conservative activists and donors from around the country in attendance.

(NOTE: This is a good way to evaluate the large field of candidates, and who the donors/activists want to support. This may pare down the large field of candidates early, and offer good training for the eventual televised Debates. With paper ballots for the 2016 Election, we may actually get winners that match the polls - like in 2014, and UNlike 2012!)

My original GOP favorite for 2012 was Jon Huntsman - who was just breaking out with name-recognition in the West, and garnering excellent support from editorials as "the GOP's adult in the room" - when he was pressured to abruptly drop out.

He is beginning to speak out now, but is more "testing the waters" than saying he wants to run again. All I can say, is that if a GOP candidate wins, Jon Huntsman is THE best choice for Secretary of State - or even VP.

I use to vote republicans before George Bush and the Iraq invasion. I would seriously consider John Huntsman.

Me too. I don't think he has a chance in an already crowded GOP field quickly dividing up the mega-money donors. But here's what they were saying about him in 2011:

www.newser.com...
HUNTSMAN'S TAX PLAN: GOVERNMENT SHRINKAGE PLAN WINS HIGH PRAISE FROM "WALL STREET JOURNAL"

www.businessinsider.com...
HUNTSMAN'S ECONOMIC GROWTH AND JOBS PLAN DEEMED "IMPRESSIVE ... BETTER THAN WHAT WE'VE SEEN FROM (THE OTHER GOP) FRONTRUNNERS"

www.huffingtonpost.com...
JON HUNTSMAN DID GREAT IN LAST NIGHT'S DEBATE - BUT IS "TOO REASONABLE" TO BE NOMINATED

If 60% of Republican voters want to see a "fresh face," instead of another political-dynasty-name nominated, Huntsman should be at the top of their list.

MITT ROMNEY WILL NOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT

www.rasmussenreports.com...
64% OF LIKELY GOP VOTERS AGREE WITH ROMNEY'S DECISION NOT TO RUN
Due mainly to his name-recognition, Romney was leading the pack of the 9 most prominent Republican candidates. But upon closer inspection, he only had 24% support among likely GOP voters.

KEY ROMNEY DONORS AND LONGTIME STAFFER MOVING TOWARD JEB BUSH

So the "handwriting was on the wall" for Romney, and I applaud his courage to step back and pull out early. Instead of running an ego-campaign that goes nowhere, snarling the field and confusing the public about the candidates who could win.

That does not matter. Less than half of eligible voters actually vote and most of those who show up at the polls are the ones who are easily influenced by political ads and the propaganda MSM pushes.

As we get closer to election time, it will be obvious to those of us who are somewhat aware that the oligarchy will get who they want.

From what I can gather, Ron Paul actually won the Iowa caucus in 2012, but the party could not have him as a frontrunner for the party so they manufactured a victory for Santorum. The old guard of the Republican party did not allow Ron to have a chance, just as the will blackball Rand from the 2016 election. Go back and watch how unfair the debate tactics were when Mr. Paul was on stage.

Remember our presidents are not elected, they are selected; handpicked by the oligarchy.

Thanks for your reply. But personally, I don't think it's that cut and dried. Yes, Bilderberg "annointed" Hillary as the next Dem. nominee for the Presidency, but I think that was mostly arm-twisting by Bill. And her poll numbers continue to slowly tank:

nypost.com...
(Dec. 2014) HILLARY'S FALLING ODDS
In the last big Quinnipiac Poll, she was one point behind Romney. With Romney out, it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the GOP candidates shuffle. But Hillary's favorables will continue to decline, as more and more comes out about Benghazi, and her serious health concerns that some in the GOP swear will keep her from running.

And I firmly believe the voting system was jerry-rigged for both the 2008 and 2012 elections - and handed to the Dems and Obama on a platter. By 2014, most states had let their glitchy voting machines fall into disrepair, and 70% of the population voted with paper ballots. Guess what? We finally had a new century election that accurately reflected the polls and the "will of the people"!

Rather than believing the war-profiteer elitists are calling all the shots in our Presidential elections, I think we need to just get back to paper ballots the Techy Dems can't hijack.

I agree, Jeb Bush is consolidating his forces, and telling his staff to "act as if I'm running." But with Romney out, the biggest change I'm seeing right now, is a flat-out attack on Killary:

Redneck for 2016. Right now he only has a FB page, but he is registered to run in the election, and if you watch his videos and talk to him, he is what we need.

Here's one of the most bizarre non-stories I've read yet this Political Season:

www.washingtontimes.com...
CONSERVATIVE PHYLLIS SCHAFLY ASSAILS GOP FOR TRYING TO CORONATE JEB BUSH

This whole item is bizarre. First of all, she's 90 - and the photo used is from the 1970s. Then the comment is apparently plucked from out of the air, with a vague allusion to the idea that she wrote it somewhere. Which is never clarified, nor a source listed. So where did it come from? A speech, a book or an editorial?

Or Take-No-Prisoners Clinton, Inc.?

www.washingtontimes.com...
THE TICKING TIME-BOMB FOR HILLARY: A LONG CLINTON TRADITION OF TAKING FOREIGN MONEY AND FAVORS - EVEN FROM MEGA-CRIMINALS

There is already evidence a former DHS official once in charge of their Immigration Program, had allowed "child pornographers, criminals and narcotics traffickers" buy their way into the U.S. thru the controversial "$500,000 Green Card program for foreign investors." And it all started with major criminals allegedly throwing mega-money at Bill Clinton's White House.

OK, so the choice may come down to coronating the very decent Jeb Bush - or coronating Hillary and giving the King and Queen of Sleeze a "Never Can Prosecute" mandate for life. Gosh, that's a tough one, let me think about it ...
