new animated popeye....2016...sneak peak inside

I really hope they get it right. I am huge fan of the Fleishcer Popeye cartoons. Not so much most of the later ones.
The Popeye movie with Robin Williams is one my favorite films ever.

Well based on what people are saying, this movie tells the story of a younger Popeye, meaning he has no smoking pipe, no tattoos on his arm, and doesn't eat spinach and turn into a badass. They've basically taken everything that made Popeye Popeye and thrown it away. Not at all worth watching based on that trailer.

That would be like making a CGI Godzilla that is a gecko that lives in an aquarium, spews rainbows from its mouth, and spends its spare time knitting sweaters.
Somebody is going to be hearing from me if they completely pussify Popeye.
I used to eat canned spinach, even though I hated it, so I could be strong like him.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it, but this information does not bode well.
