NATO reports ‘large scale’ Russian air activity in European airspace

The UK got buzzed this week by two Russian fighter jets that crossed into UK airspace and was duly escorted out of UK airspace by the RAF. Also a Russian cargo plane was forced to land this week at an RAF base. It turned out to be Latvian. But even so, I cant remember it being this bad since the Cold War. Even Gorby is dismissive of Putin and accuses him of starting Cold War 2.0. I think Gorby is regretting not taking action years ago against Putin when he still had political clout. Gorby was a gift to the world and he truly deserved his Nobel peace prize.

Putin is a very dangerous bloke, and I would not trust him to change my cat's litter tray! I wont be crying when Putin goes. Somebody send him a copy of Threads, and then see if he really wants to play with his nuclear toys.

a just in time jesus? So you saw this where? Did he fly in and pick up his Christians from London or Dresden in World War 2? Any Electoral rolls or missing persons lists we could look at to see how many have been swooped up?

Four Norwegian F-16 fighters were sent up to intercept them. Six of the aircraft then turned back towards Russia while two TU-95s continued over the North Sea, with British Typhoon fighters called in.

The two planes then flew down into the Atlantic, where Portuguese F-16s picked them up.

Is this Russia trying to see if it's long range bombers could make a round trip to the UK from a western approach?

Hence the refueling craft and escort turned back earlier..

ironic that the u.s. can throw its military all over the world, like so many pebbles tossed into a pond, bombing countries that are no threat to the u.s. and there is hardly a peep........but russia conducts military maneuvers and everyone starts thinking that they are starting ww3.

how dare russia put itself right in the middle of all the other countries military bases....look around,every chance it gets, the u.s. is deploying military assets all over the world flexing its....muscle....look at all our fancy military gear.

I see the russian military maneuvers as a reminder to the arrogant west...."just because we dont go deploying our military all over the world and bomb other countries at the drop of a hat, doesnt mean we dont have a military"
