Again, not meant to panic, just intended to get people thinking and spur constructive action.

From doctors:

'It may be that the virus burns hotter and quicker.'

the current virus may be more likely to spread through aerosols than strains which scientists have previously encountered

Back to ISIS threads.
9/11 if you are feeling nostalgic.
nothing against your post OP, mind you. just the stupid need to generate panic form the MSM or these wanna be experts looking for 15 minutes of fame.
And people will buy into it!
and so the carnival can open again.

No, I agree with what your saying, the MSM loves to pump up the crises, keep everyone in fear, distracted, hate, divided.

However, and this is just my personal opinion, I think Ebola is something to take seriously; however I realize many will disagree with me, and that is your right.

There are many sources in the article, I don't know why you would choose that one, unless you were attempting to deliberately discredit the article. I suggest if you want to do that, try to pick apart the assertions in the article instead.

Here is the original source for the ar‏Original article

oh i thin anyone with half a brain would agree with you, it MUST be taken seriously. it's very dangerous, and deadly. but what is being done, and i am sure you have noticed it, is not informing the public, educating people, nope, what has been done is just create fear, mistrust.
it's like a remake of the invasion of the body snatchers, mostly replacing the commies with Africans :p

Great. Michael Snyder is the original author. So what?
Gonna by his book?

Ok. Here is what Peter Jahrling actually said:

PJ: The mode of transmission is different between the two viruses. Ebola causes an acute infection which you either die from or you're immune, you don't carry the virus for long periods of time. Whereas with AIDS, a lot of people transmitting AIDS didn't know they have it. Before we had a triple cocktail therapy, AIDS was lethal with the exception of a few people who were not susceptible. Long term AIDS was hotter than Ebola. My gut feeling is that Ebola is going to burn out in human populations.

JB: Why are you optimistic about this epidemic burning out?

PJ: In this epidemic, it would appear that there have been multiple introductions [of the virus from animals to humans]. It's not all person to person transmission. It's coming from animals again and again. [This means people need to be near potential animal hosts — believed to be fruit bats endemic to Africa — to get the virus.] Now there are all these different strains. That could also mean the virus is more mutable. We can't yet say. I think it's unlikely that this thing is going to perpetuate in humans.
www.vox.com...

Here is what Osterholm actually said:

"For example, the H5N1 avian influenza virus... has probably circulated through many billions of birds for at least two decades. Its mode of transmission remains basically unchanged. Speculation that Ebola virus disease might mutate into a form that could easily spread among humans through the air is just that: speculation, unsubstantiated by any evidence."

www.cnn.com...

Do they think the epidemic will continue to expand? No.
Do they think that ebola will become "airborne?" No.
But go on merrily spreading ignorance, misinformation, and fear. This is, after all, ATS.

ZeroHedge is just a doom-porn fearmongering blog with a slant to the right. Ebola is not spreading exponentially. The fatality figures are only up 100 in one week.

10,000 per week by end of December indeed.

Ebola contained in Nigeria. Geographically closer to Liberia and Sierra Leone, biggest city in Africa, 3rd world health service. No new cases in 6 weeks.

Ebola is done.

I wouldn't say done.
More will die but the likelihood that the epidemic in West Africa will spread is, and has always been, remote.

It's done as in we now know that all the hysteria has no basis in fact. If Nigeria can beat it the developed world can beat it easily.

I've already commented on this a couple of weeks ago on a similar thread.

We put animals to sleep when they have terminal illness because we say it is kinder so I can never understand why we don't give the same respect to our own race.

My father died 4 years ago of terminal cancer so I saw first hand the quality of life someone has near the end. He was told in September that a tumour had come back in his oesophagus. We as a family were told he had 12 months top. My dad wasnt told at that point because his MacMillan nurse said he wasn't ready to accept. For thecfirst couple of months he used to come out with my little boy and I but he became more and more breathless and tired. About November he started to loose weight and started pushing food around plate. At beginning of December he went out for last time to buy Xmas presents for all of us at that time he startdd to acknowledge he might not have another Xmas.

He started radiotherapy to shrink tumour just before Xmas because he was having difficulty breathing (in retrospect my sister and I feel it would have been better to not have had treatment). He stayed with me Xmas and New Year and was already starting to look like skeleton as he had stopped eating by then. He was so ill he kept dirtying himself and this made him so ashamed for me to see him in such a state. It was heartbreaking. I remember it snowing heavily and making a snowman in back garden with my 2 year old. My dad stood at the kitchen window watching with tears running down his face. I can remember that day as clear as photographs in my mind because I tried to soak every moment up as I knew he would never see this again.

In January my dad started to cough blood up (it had spread to his lungs) and it was at this point the doctors told him they couldnt do anything. My sister asked him to go home to her. My dad loved her house as the views looked out all over the pennines. We moved a bed to the dining room so he could look at that view every day

From late January he started to refuse water and was by now retching all the time. We could barely touch him because he was in so much pain. In February one night my sister and I got all his favourite CD's and he started to plan his funeral. Th room that night had the strangest ambience it was both sad and filled with love. My sister put his favourite CD on Nat King Cole and as the song Unforgettable came on my dad started to talk about days gone by of my sister on a swing shouting push me higher daddy. He had tears rolling down his face and it was the title of hhis song that was wrote on his headstone. He also chose Wonderful World Louis Armstrong.

I know I'vw waffled on but the point Im trying to make is that night was the night we all kind of accepted and let go. That would have been the ideal time for my dad to have said his farewells and then been allowed to drift away surrounded by love. Instead he went on for weeks after fading away with no food or water. Sleeping more and more and being so weak he couldnt even go to toilet.

In his last week of life because his needs had become too much he went into an hospice and even though we were there night and day his last moments were spent alone. He passed away in middle of night alone and having suffered terribly.

You can explain to a human what's wrong with them, you can't do that with an animal..

And euthanasia of terminally Ill patients is growing in popularity.

I agree that Ebola is something we should take seriously. Especially when the gov't says not to panic but then turns around and buys up tons of protective gear, and creates a special response team to go anywhere in the country within 72 hours notice, etc, etc.

Pay attention to what the gov't says, but esp. what it does.

We cling to them when they would choose a more stately death . Such is the terrible, nasty twists of love and duty.

I lost my wife in much the same way, listening to the scouldings of the visiting nurse about why we had put another pain patch on her when the directions clearly stated conventional directions.

The government is always buying stuff.

OMG: Department of Homeland Security has ordered 60 million rounds of ammo.
OMG: FEMA camps going up everywhere.

Etc, etc.

The media don't need to distract the masses, that argument is ridiculous. The masses are already distracted by the TV, their iPhone and Facebook. If the government said "PANIC" you'd turn around and say "What are they trying to distract us from?". The media does what it does and that's get ratings from sensationalizing Ebola. The government has a measured response and more conspiracy theories fly around.

I don't get it. So are the media trying to distract us which means they are doing so on behalf of the government or is it the opposite with the government saying "Don't panic"? Doesn't matter which side of the fence you are on, there is a conspiracy theory for you.

Just look at the numbers, the fatalities aren't rising exponentially. Liberia and Sierra Leone have problems. Everyone else is coping fine. Why? Because those two countries are cesspools - never recovered from decades of civil war. The countries are simply broken. Now take Nigeria, civilized in comparison but with healthcare nowhere near on the same level as the developed world. And they have beaten Ebola. That is where you need to be "looking".
