Nobody said it was fake. The original image has already been posted. The YT video intentionally blurs and "color correct" the image to trick people to see what they want the people to see. Their intent was not genuine.

Perhaps you are just upset you got fooled by this?

Fooled? No!

Open minded, yes I'm guilty. And to be fair, I hardly ever watch the videos, I go looking for the originals and make my own mind up. Who needs a video of a picture when you can inspect it yourself at the original source.

I love it when people confuse open mindedness with gullibility.

Listen, you saw the picture in the OP, then when you looked at the image later you saw the same thing the blurred image in the OP wanted you to see. Would you have seen the "statue" if you saw the raw image first? We'll never know will we, because your judgement was already skewed by the OP.

I seen this picture, waaaaaay before the OP posted it, this isn't the only site with threads on Mars Anomaly my friend.

Thanks for explaining how you make assumptions of things though. Quite funny in a sarcastic way.

Surely you understand how your post confirms what I said...more than likely you don't though.

wonder why the didn't give the NASA file number.

to me this could

possibly be on earth.
possibly be photoshoped.
possibly be a boulder sitting on two flat rocks.
possibly be back ground shadows that look like hairline or a crown.

probably be a hoax.

I agree.

Before she changed "the colors" and what seemed to me
also contrast and brightness, I could clearly see what looks
to be a statue of a woman or hermaphrodite (breasts) although
admittedly has masculine facial features, looking a bit like Buddha
I suppose (Buddha is usually depicted with breasts, am I wrong?).

The image seems to be sitting down.

However, I am skeptical because I would like to access the photo
directly from the NASA website, and look at it myself.

In the video she (or he) animated voice, shows the two images
together and I can see it in the "original" photo but here's what I caught:

At 13 seconds I can still see the image of what (animated voice) showed,
however only after seeing the image after colorization.

That's the part that bothers me. What does voice mean by "after adding colors..."

A reclining god, a king, an ancient hero?

Or a collection of rocks + pareidolia + wishful thinking ?

How they can call this "A monumental discovery of huge importance" is beyond me , youtube at its best !

I think This is the original image

Thanks for the image link. After watching the video, I can still see
what the video was talking about, but if that's the original size
then no wonder it had to be blown up so much, and when you blow images
up like that they lose resolution and can start to look like anything, even
digital artifacts start cropping up.

My opinion without blowing up the image, I don't know. Probably nothing.

I see just rocks... Always bloody rocks..

I'm less intrigued by the statue — which arguably does look humanoid but so do plenty of rock formations — than I am by the dotted line near it. The rocks can be random but a dotted line curving that way?

When he says "adding colors" he actually believes that NASA color shifts all images to a red hue...

I am not even kidding.

So the people who believe that go in and "color correct" the images to what they think it is supposed to look like...because they know what the surface of Mars looks like and all.

I love the way their argument shifts. Sometimes we aren't even on Mars and the pics are all fakes from a climate or location on Earth that "looks like" Mars...even though they insist we have never been there. And then other times it's "OH LOOK NASA FAKED RED PICS AGAIN WHEN WE ALL (somehow) KNOW THAT MARS HAS A BLUE SKY!!!" They truly cannot make up their minds, lol...

Thanks for that. That was what confused me the most
because when someone admits their altering photos,
it brings out the skeptic in me unless its just a simple
adjustment like brightness, contrast, or sound
amplification when that applies.

I just wish NASA would release another MAST-CAM picture.

Curiosity has been in basically the same place for the last two weeks.

They have released lots of pictures since then, but not ONE in the area of the supposed 'statue'.

If it's just a rock then please by all means, show us more pictures of said 'rock', you know since you're right there with a camera and all....

Why haven't they done that already?

Because they have; you just don't get to see...

They have? I see. So you know this is a statue because the haven't shown the picture that they are hiding that proves it's a statute...

Think about how that sounds for a minute...

It sort of looks like a statue of a woman, but I think for the most part, statues got built in populated areas, I don't see anything else around it like a wall or foundation, Seem a bit odd to build it far away from other structures, and if the structures were there but got destroyed, there would at least be some shaped building blocks laying around.

Unfortunately the pictures from Mars which are potentially game changing are always blurry or out of focus. The one thing that is curious is the fact that the shapes are often not the way you would expect nature to shape them.

Anyways,.. here we have our own ancient mysterious African Queen. By the looks of it it is thousends or for all I know millions of years old. Maybe it is the same queen which ruled over Mars and our planet Earth.
