man, that does look good.

Ive never tried snails. So have no idea how it tastes. But when it comes to visually appealing.....that plate has it.

Yeah, Rodinus did a great job with them and they look better than the ones at our local bistro. If you have never had them they are similar to scungili or octopus in texture but the sauce makes them insanely good. Make sure to order extra baguettes.

Still waiting on your pics, don't leave us hanging.

Your escargot thread put me in a French frame of mind so I made some moules meunière last night and grabbed a six pack of my favorite French beer, Kronnenbourg.

As promised, i took some of my recreation time this weekend to cook something for the family. They appreciated it...its been a few weeks since we had something that I actually put thought/effort into.

On the menu today:

- Grilled chicken breast with a mesquite honey/lime/chile de arbo glaze, served with crumbled queso fresco and pico de gallo
- LIme/cilantro and shrimp risotto cake with a chipotle/lime crema
- Fried Mexican corn (sweet corn fried in bacon grease, with onion and jalapeno)
- standard guacamole (lime and some pico de gallo mixed in)
- homemade tortilla
- Some Stella Artois. There were no bottles of Modelo Negro, which was the original plan.

It was mentioned that a southwestern dish was desired for this posting....so I made up something southwest inspired. The risotto cake...i still used arboro rice, but substituted cotija cheese for the parmesan cheese. As you can see, lime was the "central theme" of the meal, being fit into every single element of the dish (in true TexMex fashion).

Now for the picture:

No, i don't serve courses. Altough I have some homemade brownies that I am about to whip up for us to have while watching The Walkng Dead.

I am a scant 26 hour drive from that area. LOL

If ever you come to Texas or New Mexico, we are in driving range. Beyond that....the US is a rather large land area.
