It was pretty horrible there. My friend is gay, and he and his boyfriend walked past people burning saltires, shouting for p**** to go home, singing God Save The Queen -looking for a fight basically, even though they got what they wanted. A couple of them spotted him and started shouting their anti-gay crap at him.
Despite what a lot of people are desperate to believe, there hasn't been anything like as much trouble from the Yes camp.

So there is a percentage of prick people who live in Scotland. We have enough in every part of the UK.
The main difference with Scotland though is the pathetic sectarianism with your Celtic/Rangers, Catholic/Protestant BS.
That has always been the case and is not an indication that people who support a union with Northern Ireland, Wales, and England are all pricks.
It is an ongoing pathetic sectarianism, and solely Scottish, problem. Something you guys will not fix simply by going independent.

Hey don't tar sectarianism on the rest of Scotland, it doesn't exist anywhere outside of Glasgow. I really don't get their mentality, they are pro-britain yet they love the nazi salute, just pure scum really.

Fair enough, but pathetic sectarianism was the reason for the problems in Glasgow last night, not simple 'no' voters as Angelchemuel appeared to imply on the previous page with her posted images.
That implied and incorrect slur needed to be challenged.

Couldn't agree more with your last post

Why the hell were they doing the nazi salut?brainless muppets and the police should have rounded them up quick

There is no need for that or even gloating the other sides loss, was a tight finish and both sides should remember their Scottish and work together for a better future

No, of course they're not representative of everyone who voted no, but I am getting sick to the back teeth of hearing about the nefarious, selfish ways of the yes voters. The truth of the matter is the pricks in George Square (and I'm in complete agreement with you here) are in the No camp. Can you imagine if they'd lost??

My point was that if it had been the other way round, this would have been all over the place with people claiming this was just typical of the Yes camp.

This was never, never an anti-English vote, it was an anti-Westminister vote. Somehow us voting for Scotland means that we must be against England (or Wales or NI). That isn't true, and I think a lot of people have been hurt by this as if the Scots just wanted to turn their backs and dance away, leaving the rest of you to rot.
I'm sorry it seems like this, and if I stand in your shoes for a minute then I might feel like that too. In fact, I'm pretty sure I would feel that.
The bottom line is that we all agree that Westminister doesn't benefit Britain. I hope this referendum has fired up England, Wales, NI to demand better for their families too. None of us deserve the crap that Westminister spews out, none of us. this was just our way of saying 'enough!'. I genuinely hope we can all seize this opportunity for change, and run with it.

This referendum will realy helped the other nations a lot,so thanks

Whatever Scotland gets we all will have to get, but I know labour still want Their Scottish MPs to be able to vote for them on English only matters in our Westminster parliament

Do you think the SNP will do well next election? Or will labour start to pick up their seats again?

I am in complete and absolute agreement with you.
I hope this marks the change for our UK, and I will be as angry as any Scot if those slippery bastards in Westminster dare try to rip you guys off with the pre-referendum pledges they made. It influenced the vote for sure, and I shall be watching as closely as you, and even more so than my concerns about fixing the West Lothian question/Barnett Formula etc.

I am glad we still share a union, and I am as passionate about Scotland getting what has been promised to it as much as I am for the changes I think are needed for the rest of us. We are stronger than Westminster when we work together.

That west Lothian question came about in 1977! I'm amazed that no party got round to fixing it but I guess they both thought they might need help with their own parties in some bills when it would be close

I would like to take it a step further and say why should Wales (just as an example) have to get what Scotland gets? Why should they be squeezed into a Scottish solution? Why not give them what they need, what suits and benefits them?
But anyway, if this referendum has sparked a positive change amongst the 4 nations then it has definitely been worthwhile and not a complete disaster.

I think the SNP will do well again, if I'm honest. I can't see them losing voters in any great numbers and they're seeing a big surge in their membership just now (or so they claim!) so at the moment it looks likely.

A politician earning a good wage won't really give a toss about something if constituents aren't giving them a hard time about it.
I was raging though when the Scots Labour MP's voted against free tuition for Welsh and English university students after providing it to their own in the devolved Scotland. If they had abstained from the vote then my son would enjoy the same benefits (or lack of debt) that a Scottish student does. Fair play to the SNP though, they abstained, so it is the Scottish labour MP's I blame.
It was a disgraceful knife in the backs of the Welsh and English though, not forgotten.

You know I'm amazed that labour got away with ending free tuition here, that is a massive debt and surely discourages people from further education

I respect the SNP for not voting on that English issue, that showed morality lacking from the Scottish labour MPs who voted purely to make sure the bill went through in England

I think it's disgracefully that we no longer have free universities considering the politicians all benefited from it in the past and your son starts his working life with a debt making life harder than I should be

I can't vote for any party now,I've never seen the Labour Party as being any good for this country and the war in Libya ruled the conservatives and Libs out and UKIP don't float my boat

Guess I will vote to keep the lesser of the three evils in future, the champaign socialists can go whistle
