Perry said that most have been focusing on the tens of thousands of unaccompanied children crossing into America when discussing the border crisis. And while he said what they are going through is a “tragedy,” it is important to remember that the children only make up about 20 percent of all the illegals flooding America’s borders.

80 percent of those coming across, we don’t know who they are,” Perry said. “In Katy, Texas yesterday an individual was apprehended who had murdered an individual in Louisiana.”

The [two also] discussed a 9-year-old girl who was recently molested by an illegal immigrant in Texas, and Perry said there have been roughly 3,000 murders by illegals in the past six years.

“That’s unacceptable, and that’s the reason that we have to secure that border,” Perry said.

The governor said he and his team are “methodically, thoughtfully going through this process” of determining how to best secure the border, and

“hoping against hope, frankly, that the federal government’s going to be a partner in this.”

If its Tens of Thousands of children and that's just 20 per cent, how many are the adult 80 percent?

Better start building a big wall, quick.

A wall wasn't much help in Pacific Rim. What makes you think we can keep the immigration monster out with a wall?

He'll just find a way through.

Let's start with a wall, and work from there....anything would be better than what we have now...

The economic elite are going to have a problem with this.
Perry is stepping on some rich people's toes.

Let's ask the Chinese. I hear they have experience building walls to keep invaders out.

I would say set up that wall, but add to it some GPR (ground penetrating radar) with an automated alarm system to alert the officials if any new tunnels are being built and stop them in thier tracks. Motion sensors and turrets and warning signs that warn people not to step past this point _______. It sound way too logical though. The USA has the tech to do all that I said above, so why has it not happened? I think Perry is all lip-service and no action.

The Video-Part has been tested ...

Operation Drawbridge

Operation Drawbridge provides that capability using low cost, commercially off the shelf technology that has been adapted to meet law enforcement needs and the needs of our close partners which includes the Texas Border Sheriffs, U.S. Border Patrol, and Texas land owners.

HOWEVER

Unfortunately, there are insufficient personnel resources to adequately cover the entire border region, therefore the effective use of detection technologies is a vital component in a multi-dimensional strategy.

SO

Obviously ... You're getting Warm.

A wall won't do much. More illegals fly in than walk or drive across the boarder. We have drug cartel with tunnel systems. Heck, you could even boat through.

This is as easy as, where there's a will there's a way. The way through this is to remove the will. Raise the standards of living south of the border, and get rid of the cartels influence over the people.

This is like TSA. A waste of time and money to give simple minded people ease of mind. If some how you managed to secure the southern ground border and that is a big if as things like Berlin Wall, DMZ in Korea etc. never completely worked they will just come by sea or air or get false papers and come over the northern border. And the same big companies that provide low priced food and services that everybody uses will pay the money the get them here because they need them. You are literaly paying the goverment with taxes to keep them out while at the same time paying companies to bring them in by buying their products. This is how dumb Americans are. And of course nobody will go after the companies because they donate to the political parties and no party even if they were willing give up that funding is going to be the one resposable for the price of food in he US skyrocketing. Like or not that is the reality and until those people can be replaced by cheap robots a way for the get here will be found.

Stop giving the illegals jobs and freebies. Those that are here will leave and those who were tempted won't bother.

A wall just won't work in Arizona. We do have some set up,in the accessible areas, but most of the border here is in rugged mountains, hard rock and such. The biggest issue is politics! Both the R's and D's WANT them here, for cheap labor for the business donors. The dems claim humanitarian reasons to allow them in,the repub's want work visa's for them.
Either way, both parties want them here in some way.Microsoft just laid off 18k workers, then applied for 8k foreign worker visa's! Most of the illegals here are not criminals, other than crossing the border. They will get in,one way or another.Work visa, coyotes,so on.And they are,for the most part, doing jobs we won't do.We had slave's to pick cotton 100 yrs ago,now we just give the illegals a pittance to pick tomato's and lettuce!
