Lame Topic but i´ll explain..

I think ive watched ALL the SciFy shows
avalable. Battlestar Galactica, Stagate series,
Star Trek SERIES and the new ones like Falling
Skies, Warehouse13, Terra Nova, Revolution....
And so on...
But theres allways that little something that
brings it down a notch or two...
To Much Fiction, lame carachters or situations that
"NO THATS NOT WHAT ONE WOULD DO..."

Id like to see a show were the parts be like 75% Science
and 25% fiction...

Lets see a Space Show like "Unbound" (Made that up)

Its settings are Earth and Galactic space.
Its time is now and maybe a few years on.
Some guy (heres the fiction parts) invents
a way to travel in space, in speeds ABOVE
lightspeed..Far above...
First the govmnts around the world try
to cover the invention up in fear of loosing
control, but ultimatly fails...
Then comes the Science parts:
Like Jade is doing exploring the galaxy in telescopes,
here comes the means to do it in person.
They find X star with XX amounts of planets but one
sticks out. Its IN THE ZONE... So planing and executing a trip
to this new planet, building more ships and so on would be
th plot and storyline..Ofcourse with some twists here and
there...
But MORE science and LESS fiction, but not to much or to little.

Didn't you not get the memo? Young people don't want real science, even the Doctor Who crowd. They want insanely stupid Marvel cartoon characters brought to life and sexual innuendo stuffed into every minute. The closest they want to be to science is via The Big Bang Theory so named because it is about sex and gender identity among a group of confused idiot "scientists" that don't seem to have much respect for themselves or each other.

There is a dedicated agenda in television today, and it is popular at the moment but it will be wearing a little thin before long I think. But it ain't about science and never will be. Since I've touted the new movie Dawn of the planet of the Apes a couple of places on ATS, I suggest you go see that and leave TV to a lesser crowd.

I think you got that wrong dude...
Thats what the Station owners THINK that young ppl want...

Not the same...And as it is now, thats basicly what can see
on tv.. Lame a## shows thats about one thing but shows another.

Its like were i work, lots of old ppl living there, manager gives
them some old lame movie to watch from their time.
But when we advertise it to the ppl they say, "that old thing,
must have seen it a thousand times...Isnt there anything new?!?"

They THINK they know what others want, but they dont have the
ability to actually ASK the audience...

Oh btw, i didnt mean the show would be for YOUNG ppl only...

As a young female scientist in training, you're wrong.

Mmm
And another bad thing is, most of
todays shows gets cancelled, due
to what i belive is TO MUCH fiction
and bad acting. Thus they get no
viewers..

Stargate had lots of seasons, movies,
and sequal series. so did Star Trek.

Stargate is based alot on Earth lore like
egyptians and the pyramids, a twist that
for many may seem plausible..

Id like a show(series) based on todays science
and tech, with some fiction....

And here i am, resurecting a old thread of mine..
Just finished BSG 2004 for the x´th time and theres
a deeep hole in me now...

Everytime i watch that show i feel like a small part
of me dies, like NOTHING matters anymore.

Need a new "fix"

Science? Wot dat?
Have you ever read an original shooting script for some of these shows?
On Star trek they literately leave blanks were some made up Science sounding word had to go.
or it would say "Insert Tech word".
If it can't be explained in the space between commercials it ain't going to fly.
Besides you'd be amazed how much crappy writing can be hidden with time travel.

I have literally had to explain how gravity works to a producer.
I met one that thought an eclipse was just a car.
I've been asked "How did they raised the Titanic to make the movie?"

Your not dealing with rocket scientists in Hollywood.
