Heh, although I am a massive fan of the Klingon species, that is not a weapon from their world, but a variation on a fey blade.

Oddly enough, that is my sisters ornament, and she left it here when she moved out. I thought it a shame to leave it lying idle, so I mounted it on the wall, until she is prepared to take it and mount it in her home. At that point I will probably replace the mounting with...

MORE DAMNED SHELVES!

Oh...my...GOD!

That TARDIS bookcase is absolutely amazing! I love that it opens out into three book cases worth of storage, that is brilliant! It also offers the user the ability to stand in amongst the books, rather than just looking at a flat stack. And it is so fitting, because each of the books inside that case, is quite literally going to be a different time or relative dimension in space, in terms of where it takes the reader!

That is the most awesome piece of furniture I have ever seen. I am going to have to tell my sister about this. I think we will NEED a Doctor, because she is going to flip her lid (massive Doctor Who fan).

Yeah, did I mention I love books? I've read about 70% of them, because some of them are my husband's books, and I haven't read all of his - yet. When we moved in together, we realized we had a lot of the same books, so we got rid of most of our duplicates. There are a few books where neither of us wanted to get rid of our copy.

Ha - yeah, my daughter is awfully proud of her Tardis. She's a major Whovian. It gets her excited about having books, too - and that makes me happy.

Proud of it? I should think so too!

Great way to get a kid interested in reading!

There was one time...that I got rid of some, not so great paperbacks!
We had only been married a short while & were moving to the East coast.
We were going to be flying, so we had to do quite a bit of downsizing,

Thank goodness we were just starting out or it would have been horrific!
If we ever had to move now, we'd be doomed!

Anyway, I was selling a bunch of stuff at the swap meet.
A couple came over & was thumbing through the paperbacks.
All of a sudden, the girl got really excited & asked how much I wanted for one?
I said a quarter & she bought it & quickly left.
Everything that didn't sell I took to the Salvation Army.

I just happened to mention what happened to hubby later.
He got a funny look on his face,
& asked if I had gone through the books, before I got rid of them?
Usually I would have, but I hadn't had them very long,
got them second hand, had read them all,
don't make a habit of putting things in books,
& I was in a hurry, so I didn't. I asked him why?

He told me that he had put a $100 bill in one of the books,
so that I would find it someday & be surprised!!! Aaaagh!!!

True story!!!

Maybe subconsciously, that's one of the reasons
why I hesitate to get rid of them now!!! Ha, ha!

I don't mind my book chaos, cos it's created when I'm digging among my books for particular bits and pieces of information. What gets me, is when I can't find a particular book or books that I'm looking for.

I do intend at some stage to set them up as they would in the library, but this mundane chore is beyond me. *L* I would also need some extra shelves, as my collection is well beyond the eight or more bookcases I have already.

I am also so relieved that I am not the only one with a collection of books bigger than I am! And some of these novel bookcases are beauties!
