If anyone got the other thread as being penned by a chauvinist, you either didn't read the ops fully, or are clearly having some issues with comprehension. It was actually a person pointing out inherent sexism and chauvinism in the core teachings of a religion and then simply asked why soo many women would follow the religion. Fair question.

Fair answer - Those are not the core teachings of the Bible; they are merely the misogynist opinions of some of those in authority within that religion, which are based on ignorance.

Let me try to understand you correctly? You're saying because Paul's personal opinion was quoted in the Bible, it's become the basis of spiritual fact?

I don't believe this, because as can be clearly seen, it is obviously not a prophetic word from God!

(Reading the Bible Is not only profitable, but it also has the 'POWER' / 'dunamis' to teach, etc.!! However, you can only understand it through the power of the Holy Spirit, and not by your own intelligence, which is why so many expert theologians misunderstand it. As is the case in question.)

Oh ,then news report and any media must can't quoting any hate speech.

You are a saint for "freedom of speech ".
LOL

If that hate speech creates a universal belief that it is true, then I am against it. That is not 'freedom of speech'. That is 'freedom to hate', which causes ripples of adverse effects against those being hated.

This is one of the reasons that some men think they will get away with abusing women, be it with speech, physically, sexually, or any other way open to them.

Ignorance used in the 'freedom of speech' is also woeful, especially if it is taken as being factual.

I also know there are some truly great guys out there, and that they are in the majority, thank goodness!

quite interesting. this is the issue i have with the first link: the reason paul seems to be contradicting himself and jesus, on occassion, is the same reason jesus appears to contradict himself, on occassion. the bible is, from the first chapter to the last, a battle between the god of this world, and the creator. sadly, there is little to no differentiation in the old testament, and in the new, there's differentiation but they are still mingled together to such a degree, that the result is contradictions galore. the only way to resolve it is to filter everything thru what jesus said were the most important commandments -- love the lord thy god and love thy neighbor as thyself. if they contradict either of those, then it's probably the god of this world stepping in to muddle the whole thing up.

case in point:

Did you know that the story of the Tower of Babel is also in an even older document than the Torah? here it is:

THE NAMSHUB OF ENKI

Once upon a time, there was no snake, there was no scorpion,

There was no hyena, there was no lion,

There was no wild dog, no wolf,

There was no fear, no terror,

Man had no rival.

In those days, the land Shubur-Hamazi,

Harmony-tongued Sumer, the great land of the me of princeship,

Uri, the land having all that is appropriate,

The land Martu, resting in security,

The whole universe, the people well cared for,

To Enlil in one tongue gave speech.

Then the lord defiant, the prince defiant, the king defiant,

Enki, the lord of abundance, whose commands are trustworthy,

The lord of wisdom, who scans the land,

The leader of the gods,

The lord of Eridu, endowed with wisdom,

Changed the speech in their mouths, put contention into it,

Into the speech of man that had been one.

------------------------

Enki broke up Enlil's World Order at Babel. Who is Enlil? His name is the template for all mesopotamian, ugaritic and many egyptian god names. Who is Enki? His name is the template for many egyptian and mesopotamian god names. And both of their names can be traced to Norse beliefs as well. How is this possible if they were the same guy? They are NOT the same guy. They are both present in the story of the creation of humans and the story of the re-creation of the planet after some unnamed catastrophe. they are both all over the texts that predate babylon. and they are both sons of the father god.

enki created the adam male and female copies of elohim, created the human adam and eve, and gave them procreation. he also re-created the lifeforms on the planet following that unnamed cataclysm. he was the god of life, water, healing, and abundance. the lord of wisdom and leader of the divine council. he warned the noah figure about the flood, and gave him instructions on how to build an ark. he broke up enlil's world order at babel and confused the languages (sounds like pentecost without a translator).

enlil owned the planet as a piece of real estate. he hated humans and viewed them as lesser lifeforms who should be enslaved and tossed out when they were no longer useful. he decreed the flood. he was a big environmentalist, who viewed humans as destroyers of his lovely garden planet. he decreed that human dna be nerfed as a result of the addition of procreation in the human genome.

enki said go forth, be fruitful and multiply. enlil said, go forth, don't be fruitful and don't multiply lol in fact, if the idea of multiplying crosses your mind, consider it a sin and a direct disobedience to my law. jesus tried to warn people that the law of the god of this world is so strict as regards humans, that no human would be saved without intervention. even thinking it was the same as doing it.

these are 2 different gods. one of them is actually not a good guy - he's the accuser, the dude that hates humans. the other is the creator, and he not only loves his creation, he died for them. and neither of them is the father in heaven. however, both (actually all 3) are called jehovah in the old testament. but their deeds are quite different and have to be painstakingly and prayerfully extracted from the text. it's a long, arduous process. and none of them is the holy spirit. the holy spirit doesn't really make a big debut till the new testament, although it's alluded to as residing in the holy of holies on occassion in the old testament.
