Is NASA Trying To Conceal Something Near The Sun? Or Is It Just Data Loss?

Guys, I chanced upon this site today and was quite intrigued by some of the images there. Please skip if already posted! These are images from SOHO/LASCO of the Sun but with areas blacked out with squares. Is it missing pixels or is NASA trying to hide something that we shouldn’t be seeing?

If it’s a case of data loss how is the location changed with the same amount of missing pixels resulting in the same shape over a number of days – even after a year? Was there a permanent malfunction of the cameras to have produced this same anomaly over a number of days and even over a year?

Or is NASA hiding something by blacking it out? I’m sure the experts out here will be able to provide an explanation.

Here are the pics….

The square has moved toward the top right of the image.

The same black square (exactly similar data loss?) after more than a year?

And now, here's the latest image. Was NASA trying to hide this?

Damn it, I knew the Borg would find us LOL. Seriously though, that is kind of strange but it might just be an artifact.

Cheers - Dave

Data is transmitted in blocks. Each block contains the same amount of data. A lost block results in the same amount of data being lost.

It is not a malfunction of the imaging device, it is a problem in the transmission of data from the spacecraft to Earth.

Why is it a UFO and not a cosmic ray strike?

Ah thanks for clearing that up.

can you say with absolute 100% certainty what it is?

Then it is a UFO.

So...are you saying that NASA doesn't use the usual error correction and data transfer protocols the rest of the Data Industry uses?

Did you know that when you fail to connect to a website ; that may have resulted from a single block of data not being acknowledged (errors in transfer that could not be recovered).

Or perhaps NASA in in the habit of using corrupt data?
