Cats are jerks.

I read once that we can’t have cat parks like we do for dogs.

Dogs actually want to go and have fun with each other.

Cats just want to kill all the other cats, then kill their owner.

Too true.

They're too independent and think they can come and go as they please.

I say we put em all in 15 minute cat trees and keep them on a steady diet of insect based kibble.

Pspspsps.

Cats are fearless.

I've seen them take on animals so much bigger than they are, and the other animals always back off.

Compared to cats, dogs are "pussies". LOL!

I love both cats and dogs, but I'm a dog guy at heart. I have this need to have one around me as much as possible.

I saw a standup bit a few weeks back,
and the gist was that
cat people don't really love dogs much, but they're okay with them, and you don't hear them actively talking crap about dogs or dog lovers,
while dog people are always talking smack about cats and cat lovers. A "dog person" will jump at the opportunity to sing their hatred.

Say what you want about cats,
but cat lovers have chill and dog people don't.

JS.

I have 2 dogs, have worked at an AKC dog kennel, and also have 3 cats.
I never understood why people get so polarized about this.
Seems like weird tribalism TBH.

Cats Meditate, Dogs just dream.

Cats don't need a lead.

Cats can hunt their own food.

Cats hide their poo and don't do it where they stand.

Cats are almost impossible to train because they are so smart.

Cats clean themselves and don't stink like dogs that just lick their genitals.

Cats don't need walking because they use litter trays.

Cats have retractable claws and are great climbers.

Cats naturally have softer fur than most dogs.

Cats understand personal space.

Cats provide better health benefits for people.

Cats are more inquisative.

Cats don't get jobs.

Cat's keeps pests and vermin at bay.

Cats can Purrrr.

Cats don't have earsplitting barks.

Cats come in convenient sizes.

Cats usually have cheaper vet bills.

Cats need smaller holes when buried.

Cats can move their own babies around.

Cats don't drool much or have stinky farts.

Cats don't need as much space.

Cats are better for the environment.

Cats help heal people more.

Most importantly, Cat owners are usually smarter than Dog owners...Cat People Are Smarter Than Dog People

Cats are COOLER than Dogs.

Another thing people seem to not realize, is that much like dogs have their own distinct personalities and some can be mean jerks and some can be gentle and sweet, cats vary in that way too.

Also, the amount of time you spend building a relationship with and getting to know an animal,
the more well behaved they will typically be.

My old tattoo artist friend had 3 cats and they were all wildly different.
She had a young female, a young adult male, and an elderly female.
The young female never did anything annoying or mischievous, and she was always quiet and just wanted to snuggle.
The boy would do annoying shiz to get attention. He was a jerk. He'd claw the side of your bed in the middle of the night just to get you to yell at him, or sometimes he'd unroll the toilet paper in the bathroom.
The elderly female cat was terrified of everyone but her owner, and would hide under the bed if anyone else was over.
It took a month before I even saw her. It took TWO months before she would come out and sit by me in the living room.
She most certainly never did anything bad or annoying.

The three cats I have now vary in much the same way.
I have a female kitten and two older males.
The orange tabby male is skittish and avoidant, spends all his time outside catching mice and rats.
The black and white boy is just as independent but not as skittish and more curious.
The little girl LOVES people and will take any opportunity to be petted and hugged, and snuggle on the couch.

They are all different.

MEANWHILE, with my 2 Irish Setters, the 2 year old female is sweet but very rambunctious and will run around and occasionally knock stuff over or get into stuff she's not supposed to, and the male puppy constantly barks, and will wake me up in the middle of the night barking at the wind.
It took a solid month of having to get up and squirt him with a water bottle, because yelling at him to cut it out didn't work.
Now we mostly have quiet nights, but he still gets worked up occasionally, and when he does sometimes the girl will join in.

So basically this is CAT RACISM!

I mean, I'm being cheeky, but honestly, it kind of is.

LOL. That reaction could also simply be the result of the cat being smarter.

The cat is thinking, "Dude, why you taking another dumb picture for no reason? We're literally just napping here. Nothing interesting happening."

The dog is thinking, "OMG, a flat thing in his hand! Will he hit me with it? Is it alive? Is it a square squirrel?
Is the squirrel smashed flat? Does owner think I smashed the squirrel? Am I in trouble?"

i had kitties for 50 years, half were wild ones, or
someone elses but using my barn to have babies,
and many indoor-out ones

i had one make friends with the raccoons, and that
sparked off 4 litters and 34 babies (raccoons) over
3 years that all came for food, hung around the yard
and even played with 4 skunks

same cat was friends with the deer, and played with the fawns
and the turkeys..

another cat played with , acted like, and colored like
the 5 foxes in the barn.. jumping straight up to pounce on prey

at 5 am every morning there was always a kitty convention
in middle of the road.. 50-100 cats LOTS of screaming bloody murder
but they never fought, only dance, and growl ,and hiss
maybe mating ritual

i have 1 video with 10 deer, 1or2 cats, 2ducks,
and some turkeys, maybe a raccoon too, all in 1/2 hour clip

one kitty lasted 22 years..
one kitty gave birth draggin the babys head
across the kitchen floor

one kitty almost died fighting neighbors rooster,
4-5 quarter size 1 inch deep wounds.

one kitty got shot twice with .22 in the shoulder
then a shotgun to his stomach.. he made it home
both times, but died 2nd time

and i noticed all the neighborhood cats come for food,
like they prowl the neighborhood searching for a brand they like

and if you leave food out at night, just know that.....
CATS, RACCOONS, OPOSSOMS, AND SKUNKS
all will eat as much kitty food as you put out,

our family of 7 skunks
dug tunnels under my porch, 2 feet away from the food bowl,
they really like marshmellos, and one fishes the catfood
out of the water bowl, (like the raccoons do)
they spray as last resort or if startled
and will hiss, run, growl and stamp their feet first

kitties make some strange friends,

Haha I love cats! These kind of videos always crack me up esp the ones that just knock stuff off of counters.

The guy at the end deserved it!

I have 3 cats all from the same litter and I've had them since the day they were born. They mom was a stray and decided to have her babies in my hall closet one Fourth of July.

My two voids (black cats) are part dog I swear. They play fetch and growl anytime someone comes to the door. They are obsessed with playing fetch to the point I have to hide toys at night to be able to sleep lol My male is the craziest with his ping pong balls and mice. He will toss them in my coffee while Im working or on my keyboard. I work from home and he wants to play all day long. Both of my voids will come into the room yelling with a toy in their mouth ready to play. They will paw at you until you throw the toy. I will take the toy sometimes from my male because he ends up panting like a dog and I have to take him to the water bowl. He's a trip!

I love my cats. They are the sweetest most affectionate cats I have ever had. I have had cats before but nothing like this, I think a lot of it has to do with having them from birth and bonding early with them.

Now I had a cat years ago named Buffy and a dog, Rosco. He was a sweetie but was allergic to everything so he was on a lot of special meds and food. Buffy was a fluffy brat and would torment my dog every day. He was so afraid of her, all she had to do was stand in the hallway and he would not go near her, she did this on purpose. She would sit in front of his food bowl because she knew he would not go near her. If he was in a playful zoomies mood she would come out of nowhere and smack him around then run away. We called her the fun police. lol She was a sweet cat but she wasn't too cool with Rosco or my son when he was born so she was re-homed to an elderly couple where she could be the only Queen of the house.

I like dogs but for my personality and lifestyle cats are a much better fit. Dogs need way too much. I can leave my cats for a few days and they are all set with automatic feeders and water fountains. I set up extra litter boxes and Im good to go. lol

We have 3 indoor cats and one outdoor stray we adopted and feed. My roommate has fed her for years but when I moved in with my cats she started to come closer to the screened porch area. I moved her food there and got her an outdoor all weather cat house and put a cat climber scratching post out there my cats didn't use. She uses both! We have let her on the porch when the weather is bad so she can stay dry or warm. I keep mine inside when she is on the porch.

There is also a family of raccoons, 5 total, some opossums, a random peacock that had to have flown here from the island side since they have peacocks all over that island. It's about 2 miles from me.

I love the raccoons, they are so cute! I have pictures of the raccoon, the stray I call Tay Tay and the peacock all chilling and eating together. It's a funny picture. We live in a residential area but I love our backyard wild life friends. My cats will sit on the porch and watch them all.
