It wouldn't have been pretty. Even though there's a 50+ billion trade deficit with Mexico. They are our third biggest trading partner. And most of that trade is manufacturing going to Mexico.

Bull crap. It didn't happen. The Mexican government realized it could destroy their countries economy. Much of the exports going to mexico goes into cars and equipment sold back to the USA. we could start making all those cars and equipment here and Mexico would go back into the stone age again if they started taxing imports from the USA. It would force US automakers and farm equipment companies to build cars here again or go out of business.

Seems Trump has another notch on his holster...

From my view this has been his only true victory. So far.

But it's a big one. He campaigned on it. He worked on it for two years. Shut down the government over it. And in the end comes up with an idea that makes the main beef with the border, the wall, far less important.

If everything goes as planed if mexico does what they say they will do. We will have less people crossing that dessert than ever before.

All the stalemates and infighting the childish name calling from both sides is going to be in the history books. But so will this.

His ego and self aggrandizing aside it does make since that trump would be good at financing and trade. He's dealt with it his entire life. Grew up in the world of money.

China wont be as easy but I'm not counting trump out. I was saying wait and see on the china and mexico tariffs but after this I'm giving more points to trump, vs china.

Machinery is a 83 billion dollar industry. Which would hurt factories on our side.

Then by vehicle parts.

Out of a 236 billion goods exported vehicle parts is what, 8%?

Pelosi is accusing Trump of being a bully.

Mayor Pete says America is not full and his city needs another 30,000 people.

Puto O'Rourke says that Trump made the problem in the first place, stating that it is like the arsonist becoming the fireman and claiming it as a win.

The direct cost to the US taxpayer of illegal immigrants is roughly $260 billion.

That doesn't count indirect costs... health care, etc.

Besides, seems like for now there will be no tariffs.

Mexico's southern border is 100% blocked off all year around by military.

They only let the carvans in if they were directly guided to the u.s.

They refugees are also ment to wait out their time for a trial in Mexico, not a failed catch and release plan the u.s. uses.

Mexico also refused to play ball.

Threatening them works as is why major drug armies live there.
