The Russian Black Sea Fleet has deployed a 110 year salvage ship, KOMMUNA, to search the remains of the sunken cruiser MOSKAVA

The KOMMUNA, originally built as the VOLKHOV, was laid down as a submarine tender in 1912 in St Petersburg - even before World War 1 !

en.wikipedia.org...

The KOMMUNA is to search the sunken remains of the cruiser MOSKAVA which lies 80 miles off Odessa in Black Sea. The waters in the area are
some 45-50 meters deep (150- 160 feet)

KOMMUNA carries a DSV submarine The salvage search has prompted speculation on what Russians are looking for . Russia has said looking to recover bodies of crew Speculation is to locate nuclear warheads for the SSN-12 missile which may have been on board

The Montreaux Treaty of 1936 gives Turkey right to deny transit through Dardanelles and Bosphorus straits to foreigh ship not homeported there before the conflict

So Turks could say no

I guess the main thing to take away from all this is how vulnerable ships really are.

No major WWII type naval battles necessary, just launch a couple of ship killer missiles and poof!

When the SHTF I think many naval vessels of many nations will be visiting Davey Jones locker.

I guess a ship killing missile doesn’t discriminate about the age or condition of ship!

The Ukrainians should wait until the salvage vessel is attached to the Masks and attempts to lift it. Then sink that ship too!

So they can recover the nukes themselves?
Good plan.

Which was already proven as the Chinese built their navy from the Russian WWII scrapyard .

Those dang speculators again .
Driving up the price of oil even further and proving they have no concept of real life .

I'm going to lose it big time, if the Ukrainians sink this ship as well lmfao 🤣. That would just be too funny. On the other hand, that Putin would probably lose it as well and launch the nukes from utter embarrassment and the end of the world.
