Active Shooter at Morgan State University

Breaking now.

Multiple authorities are at the scene, confirming their response to an active shooter situation at Morgan State University. Several individuals were reportedly shot inside the food hall, with at least six people confirmed injured. Police indicate the possible involvement of two gunmen with Shots have been Fired from Upper Floor Dorm Room Window. Law enforcement has issued a shelter-in-place order and is advising everyone to avoid the area. The University is currently on lockdown.

This may be something different shooting wise.

Listening to a streaming police scanner for "Baltimore City Police Scanner Channel". They literally just referred to the shooters as terrorists. Plural. I don't know if that was terminology or what. Right now it's about setting up a family staging area on Harford Rd at The Safeway.

We have 4 shot, unknown condition.

Apparently have the shooter(s) holed up somewhere on the 9th floor of a residential/mess building.

Possibly tangentially, they are looking for a white BMW with tinted windows.

IMO, You won't be hearing much more about this shooting, because:

Morgan State University is a public historically black research university in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the largest of Maryland's historically black colleges and universities.

Maybe someone with law enforcement experience can help me make sense of this…

It’s not an active shooter, so shelter in place… why shelter in place still? If the subjects are at large, I could see that making perfect sense - I’m wondering if they’re making it known the subjects remain at large in the local community.

If the shooter is black and mad at the school for grades, expulsion, etc …… it will be forgotten asap.

If the shooter is white, shooting for the same reasons, it will instead become 100 kinds of terrorism and white supremacy.

Fox just covered a live news conference. Five wounded, not life threatening. Four of them are students of the university. Shooter still at large. They cannot confirm if single shooter or more than one. Police officers patrolling in the area heard the shots and responded quickly. Shooter was outside the dorm building.
